Does the corner of my bedroom count as a "headquarters"? Hell ya it does and one day I'll expand (I'm speaking to existence here, people). I believe it's so important that your work space makes you feel like you want to work more. I've tried &bought NUMEROUS DESKS and never wanted to work on it because it was either too big, too small or not wide enough. After years of mastering the perfect office space, I'm finally happy with the results even though I'm not done yet! Here are some tips to get you started on achieving your desk goals!

1. LIGHTING

I love natural light. Place your desk in a naturally lit place. I have a lamp near by that I purchased at Target. You can purchase similar ones here

2. OPEN SPACE

Clear off your desk. Clear space, CLEAR MIND.

3. ORGANIZE YOUR DRAWERS

Something I'm still working on. I have so much shit in those drawers to the left it's questionable! LOL I'm also trying to work on being more organized with my computer files. A clear desktop is also better for you too!

I got my drawers (pictured on the left) at Ikea! Very cheap and effective.

4. ADD SOME GREENS

There are so many benefits to adding plants in your office. Plants reduce stress, tension and anxiety. The color green has a relaxing and calming effect. I added a fake plant (black pot on the left) and then added a REAL cactus plant from 6ixth Sense LA

5. DECOR

LESS IS MORE. I made sure I had key things that make me want to work more. I was lucky enough to find this GOLD COVERED MIDDLE FINGER AT 6ixth Sense LA I actually questioned getting it. Then I realized, my whole life I've been playing it safe and would be too scared to do anything wild. So I said, FUCK IT.. I'll buy it! So that's my thing now. When I'm in a slump, I look over and see that middle finger and say "FUCK IT –get your shit together, Michelle!"

6. FIND THE RIGHT DESK

Ok, I get asked the most questions about two things: my desk and that gold middle finger.

I got my SitStand desk from WayFair here but I was also told that people got it from Costco and Walmart! They have only black available on WayFair. I tried to find it and I couldn't find it :( but I found something similar! here

The details on my desk:

-It weights APPROX 100lbs & has a easy set up

- It's electronic - with touch screen buttons & 4 settings you can set for heights.

- Top is glass ^ hence the touch screen which also serves as a white board!

-The sides have 4 USB cords and an auto-lock button.

- Ergonomically safe!
